Great article, thanks. What is your take on the trend of offsetting solutions as a commercial product/solution? Is it on the rise for the years to come? Are solutions other than offsetting on the rise too (ESG, Impact solutions but not necessarily easy to measure or helpful for compliance? Thanks :)
Hey Mauricio. I guess big corporates like IBM are looking into having all-round solutions and there can be a number of mergers and acquisitions on that way. Before that happens, what I am seeing is that environmental start-ups are becoming a bit more comprehensive in their scope, e.g. not only measuring carbon footprint (e.g. Planetly) or energy (e.g. Wattics) but also carbon and energy together (e.g. ClearVUE.Business). On top of that comes reporting automation and more in-depth data sourcing across the whole value chain, actionable offsetting activities, etc.
What about Handprint? If I am not mistaken, that is the only e-commerce plugin that allows you to pick different ways of positive impact and has companies contribute rather than the consumer. Why should consumers always pay?
